The War Memorial
About
In stands on a base of two granite blocks laid one upon the other, and a Crevole white marble block on which is placed the bronze scolpture, on a larger scale: Victory is represented as a woman, with a hand laing on a big Savoyard shield, the other head holding out a laurel crown over the head of a dead soldier.
The soldier's trunk is bare, his arms are open and inert, his head bowed. He is wearing military trousers, bands and boots.
On the sides of the base, the names of the fallen in both World Wars are written, in bronze letters on marble tables.
The monument is a work of Oreste Pozzi from Vogogna, architect in Milan, and it was unveiled on the 16th July 1923.
